Intellectual property experience

Kyle C. Watson is an attorney at Mahou Law with experience in intellectual property litigation. His work has focused on design and utility patent claims, including disputes involving automotive aftermarket parts suppliers and large automotive companies.

Before practicing law, Kyle worked as a design engineer and software specialist in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. That background informs how he approaches the technical details of a dispute, from a product's design to the processes used to manufacture it.

From engineering to law

Kyle's engineering career included automation, design, and manufacturing work for the exterior redesign of the Petersen Automotive Museum in 2015 and the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo in 2020. He received CATIA Champion recognition for his work with design software.

While attending DePaul University College of Law, Kyle worked as an examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in the Business Methods art unit. His experience spans automotive and sheet-metal design, manufacturing, architecture, construction and project management, and software.
